LGBT+ filmiklubi: “Tulilind”
Sügishooaja viimaseks linastuseks LGBT+ filmiklubis on Eesti mängufilm “Tulilind”.
Aastal 2021 esilinastunud ja üle 70 filmifestivali programmis linastunud romantiline suhtedraama “Tulilind” on praeguseks jõudnud kinolevisse 20 riigis ümber maailma ning selle on ostnud oma voogedastusvalikusse nii Amazon, Kanada suurim telekommunikatsioonifirma Bell ja Briti Filmiinstituudi BFI Player.
19. detsembri 18.30 algava Filmimuuseumi LGBT+ filmiklubi linastusel on küsimuste ja vastuste vooruks kohal filmitegija Peeter Rebane ja operaator Mait Mäekivi.
“Tulilind” on romantiline suhtedraama, mille režissöör, kaasstsenarist ja kaasprodutsent on Peeter Rebane (debüüt režissöörina) ja süžee põhineb Sergei Fetissovi mälestusteraamatul "The Story of Roman" ("Romani lugu").
Filmi sündmused leiavad aset Nõukogude Liidus 1970. aastatel. Sergei, noor ajateenija okupeeritud Eestis, loeb päevi, kuni tema teenistus lõpeb. Tema elu keerab pea peale, kui õhujõudude baasi saabub julge hävituslendur Roman. Uudishimust innustatuna liiguvad Sergei ja Roman mööda ebakindlat piiri armastuse ja sõpruse vahel, kui nende ja baasi komandöri sekretäri Luisa vahel tekib ohtlik armukolmnurk. Sergei seisab silmitsi minevikuga, kuna Romani karjäär on ohus ja Luisa püüab hoida oma perekonda koos. Noored võtavad riski oma vabaduse ja elu nimel, arvestades KGB järjestikust uurimist ja hirmu laieneva Nõukogude režiimi ees.
Lugu avastab keelatud tunnete tagamaid Nõukogude Liidus ning kuidas poliitiline režiim mõjutab inimeste omavahelisi suhteid.
LGBT+ filmiklubi programm on sündinud koostöös aasta 2023 kultuurivaldkonna vikerkaarekangelaseks valitud LGBT+ kultuuriliikumise Q-Space’iga.
Film linastub eesti ja vene keelsete subtiitritega.
Film on alla 12 a. mittesoovitatav.

The last screening of the autumn season at the LGBT+ Film Club is the Estonian feature film “Firebird".
The romantic relationship drama "Firebird", which premiered in 2021 and was screened at over 70 film festivals, has now reached cinema distribution in 20 countries around the world and has been purchased by Amazon, Canada's largest telecommunications company Bell and the British Film Institute's BFI Player for their streaming services.
For the Q&A session after the screening on the 19th of December, the filmmaker Peeter Rebane and cinematographer Mait Mäekivi will be present.
"Firebird" is a romantic relationship drama that Peeter Rebane directed (his debut as a director), co-screenwrote and co-produced, and the plot is based on Sergei Fetissov's book of memoirs "The Story of Roman".
The events of the film take place in the Soviet Union in the 1970s. Sergey, a young conscript in Soviet Estonia, counts the days until his service ends. His life turns upside down when a brave fighter pilot, Roman, arrives at the Air Force base. Inspired by curiosity, Sergey and Roman tiptoe along the uncertain line between love and friendship when a dangerous love triangle arises between them and Luisa, the secretary of the base commander. Sergey faces his past as Roman's career is in jeopardy, and Luisa tries to keep her family together. They take risks for their freedom and life, being constantly aware of the constant KGB investigations and fear of the expanding Soviet regime.
The story delves into the forbidden relationships during the Soviet era and how the political regime affected those.
The LGBT+ Film Club program was born in collaboration with Q-Space, an LGBT+ cultural movement selected as the rainbow hero of the year 2023.
The film is screened with Estonian and Russian subtitles.
Not recommended for viewers under the age of 12.
